* It has been a nightmare week physically. I did manage physio Saturday and Sunday, but we ended up having to go shopping in the middle of the night Sunday as it was the only time worked for me and squirrel both. It was stocking time, and according to the guys I chatted with it was extra bad as they'd been having delays and shortages and then lots of the things turned up all at once. I couldn't use the electric cart as there was no point since it wouldn't fit down the aisles.

I haven't gotten up to ethical grocery much as it stresses out my car, the other ride option needs a light replaced and can't afford a ticket. There were a lot of things I needed that I'd used up the last few months to it was all a lot. Too much walking with every step and agony as the energy drained from my body. That sort of thing. Ethical grocery isn't Costco big, but it above average for a grocery store, and I kept having to let go of the cart to hobble through gaps to get things. I needed a lung treatment and I couldn't get enough air.

We made it home and got our separate perishables away. I basically sat on the dolly so I could sort on the kitchen floor to minimize stand time and so I could deliver things in bags to the right area quickly. They I went and lunged with my feet propped and had a nap after. A bunch of cabinet shelf stables are still in their bags, but the rest is properly stowed.

I had a good idea how bad the next few days would be so I made sure that I had things I could make quickly and/or easily. I had the forage field roast already defrosting, but I would need gravy, and the one type that they sell safe for me takes extra prep. I got other things though. This meant I could have soup and toast later and had things I could throw together in minutes for Monday.

Monday I was meant to do four items of phone bureaucracy, but a fifth urgent item emerged while I was looking for a paper I needed for a different call. I ended up doing the three most urgent before I had to got out for more incredibly painful hobbling. I knew this would be too much. I was on borrowed spoons, but library had to be Monday and the other things I could arrange to minimize extra gas expenditure. Also they were sort.

I had just enough left after housing tax and the bill I didn't pay last month for car tax to pick up something the car needed. I went to the indie parts store where you can go up to the counter and they will look up the part and go get it. I sorted it right there in disabled parking in case it was the wrong size. It was perfect.

Then to the library as three people were waiting on a book to return and I had two more ILLs. I had hoped for more time, but ah well. (One I need for some very specific research things, so I'm doing that quick as I can. I don't need the whole book, just sections of it. The other, I also need for research, in part to see if it's actually any good. I will either read a little bit and send it back or read all of it). Meanwhile the updated yersina pestis book is proving really good. I'd read the much smaller original when it first came out. I've read some of the articles the authors incorporated, but I haven't had much time since 2016 and also the context matters. The way it all fits together matters. And I really, really want to read the Ann Carson Bakkai this month, but I am slow with poetry, so I'm doing a little bit at a time. The opening poem is stunning. See really gets it. The approach in the early parts of the play is new, but makes sense and is beautiful.

The rest between shopping and this bought me a little time, but I was on borrowed spoons. I still needed gravy and tomatoes. It was Rough, so Rough.

The phone keeps waking me. It is mostly assorted insurance scammers. they are immune to do not call and do not listen. I forget how many I blocked Monday. Five of the six calls woke me Tuesday were the same insurance scam with two different people calling: Rude lady and a new player: man with distinctive accent. I keep blocking them. The sixth call was an absolutely essential call about caregiver stuff, which involves more phone bureaucracy, but I'm saving that for another day.

Can I prove that the daily insurance company autodialer barrage is caused by DOGE Bros selling my medicare and SSI and other personal information to insurance companies as a side job for personal enrichment? No. I just know that at least one of them is reported to have sold all the information he illegally data mined to a private company and the timing is right.

I was down to like one or two a month at most under Biden. Sometimes months would go by and I'd have to look up the number block code I hadn't used it in so long. The Tuesday barrage was half hour intervals, the bastards.

I am so angry about this. I bet none of them go to jail. My private information and everyone else on medicare's is out there likely being sold and resold for the pleasure of Trump and Musk and Big Balls and their ilk because more money for the rich matters more than the safety and privacy and sleep of ordinary people.

I had planned to do the stupid housing zoom meeting to fight for my window plants at least, but I just could not do it after two days of the shakes and so little uninterrupted sleep.

* I will now and then prearrange a call for that time, but I hadn't. Normally a call at that time means someone is dead or someone needs a ride to the hospital.

Her: "Hi. Are you there?" Me, already suspecting, but playing along: "It's 5:55AM. Does someone need to go to the hospital?" Her: It's Michelle. Do you remember I called you yesterday about…"

It was one of the fucking Insurance companies trying to trick me into fucking up my medicare. She talked over me, including another complaint about the time and my do not call notice. She calls me once or twice a day with the same opening line. It's a local number, which means she's calling me at 5:55AM on purpose, not an East Coast autodialer that doesn't care about time zones.

Yes, I keep fucking blocking them.
